Sandy

The devestation of sandy really showed me how unprepared we are......we all live day to day not worrying about the real issues in life...what will i do if my house is burned down? what if there is a major blackout? what if i get sick tomorrow? my own thoughts really hit me what if Sandy left us powerless...Thank God i live Uptown we dont have any candles or flashlights keep saying we're gonna get some but never got around to it and with this thoughts flooded into my head watching ppl powerless the shots of ppl lining up for gas...n then it hit me if something goes wrong supermarkets only have a 3 day supply of food n stock up every 3 days n the supermarket by me {best yet} was already prac. empty n they cant accet deliveries or make any due to no gas....n then it hit me our storms are getting stronger we're experiencing weather we never had before n its just going to get worse in most cases...n we arent prepared for any of it...the city is still shut down to an extent....what if the storm was worse then what it was i live on a powerless ,no gas having,no food having ISLAND....n i dont even have a flashlight lol...it really showed me i need to prepare i have a baby to think about if things go wrong its up to me to pick up her pieces not sit n wait for the gov to come n help...couple of flash lights, coupld jugs of water,first aid kit, maybe even safe storage for importants papers...if everyone had a place just to store the important things least if u did have to start over u would have the things most important to u {grandmas last picture, the babies foot prints, SS ,Passports, Emergency Cash}....we can no longer live in the mind frame where we arent worried till shit hits the fan
